About case tools

TextMap case tools are utilities that help make the process of transcript review and reporting easier because they are built into the program. Many of these tools include wizards that help guide you through process steps.

Description

Case Issues

This tool menu item opens the Case Issues dialog box where you can view, add, delete, organize, and import case issues.

Exhibit Autolink Aliases

This tool menu item allows you to configure aliases on a per-case level to automatically find links within a transcript.  For more information, see Creating exhibit autolink aliases.

Linked Exhibits

This tool menu item displays the Linked Exhibits dialog box where you can edit, open, rename, delete, and change and verify linked exhibit file paths.

Case Index

This tool menu item opens a submenu where you can view case ignore words, track linked exhibit indexing and OCR status, and enable/disable OCR processing, and rebuild the case index.

File Viewers

This tool allows you to add, edit, or delete file viewers. You can also set a file viewer as the default.

Case Optimizer

This utility defragments your case file to remove unused disk space and increase speed.

Case Staff

This feature allows you to add and delete case users.

Change Case Password

This tool allows you to change the password for local cases. SQL case passwords are set in the CaseMap Admin Console.

Realtime

This tool launches the CaseViewNet software that is installed (optionally) when you install TextMap.

Full Service Expert Search

This tool allows you to access the LexisNexis Expert Research On-Demand web site.

Customize

The Customize dialog box allows you to change CaseMap toolbar, commands, and menu settings.
