Description
This engaging course provides an overview of the unique risk factors impacting legal professionals that can contribute to developing a substance use disorder. The course provides specific approaches to increase resilience and enhance wellbeing. Ethical considerations and legal obligations are reviewed to provide the learner with a comprehensive approach to navigating the hurdles related to substance use disorders and the practice of law. As a result of the training, the learner will be able to:
• Define the rules that pertain to attorney substance use in the workplace and how to apply them to his/her professional work.
• List the unique behavioral health issues facing lawyers and typical contributing factors to burn out.
• Describe the keys tactics necessary to decrease the risk of developing a substance use disorder by integrating one’s core beliefs and behaviors to build, enhance and sustain personal resilience.
