Emer Murphy is a senior associate in A&L Goodbody's Employment group.  Emer works with employers from a range of sectors on the full suite of employment law matters, including contentious and non-contentious, advisory and corporate matters.  Emer advises clients on policy formation, investigations, grievance and disciplinary procedures, industrial relations, dismissals and redundancies, employment equality and equal status claims.  Emer represents employers in employment litigation before the Workplace Relations Commission, Labour Court and High Court.

Chris Bergin

Partner, Asset Management & Investment Funds

Chris Bergin is a partner in A&L Goodbody's Asset Management and Investment Funds group. Chris advises on the establishment and operation of regulated and unregulated Irish investment funds including UCITS, ETFs, money market funds, Retail Investor AIFs, private equity funds, hedge funds, debt funds, loan origination funds and property funds. Chris has advised on the authorisation and ongoing operation of UCITS management companies, AIFMs, a fund administrator and specialised depositary.

Chris was previously on secondment to the DWS legal team supporting their ETF products.

Jill Shaw

ESG & Sustainability Lead

As ESG & Sustainability Lead, Jill supports A&L Goodbody's clients and practice groups on ESG and sustainability matters. She has a particular focus on sustainability reporting and disclosure requirements including the obligations introduced by the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive. Jill has extensive experience advising clients on legal and regulatory matters, principally in the asset management and investment funds sector. In addition, she has worked as a senior knowledge lawyer with a focus on compliance with the various European sustainability initiatives applicable to the asset management sector.

Jill has been recognised as a Green Ambassador within Legal 500’s 2024 Green Guide. She is a lecturer on the Law Society of Ireland's Diploma in Finance Law, including on sustainable finance. She is also co-lead of the Content Development, Education and Knowledge working group of the Green Team Network which is a forum that supports member firms' efforts to close the gap between intent, action and impact on sustainability.

Denise Daly Byrne

Senior Associate, Disputes and Investigations

A&L Goodbody

Denise Daly Byrne is a senior associate in A&L Goodbody's Disputes & Investigations group. Denise advises clients on a wide range of contentious commercial matters, with particular expertise in financial services and real estate disputes. Denise also advises on the litigation-related aspects of corporate schemes of arrangement and capital restructurings, as well as on banking transactions, including loan sales.

Denise has significant client-side experience, having completed a number of secondments, including with the payments company, Stripe, and working in-house as international legal counsel with the database software company, MongoDB.

Denise has also worked with the A&L Goodbody Client Technology team as the firm's first Client Tech Lawyer giving her unique insight into the most effective and innovative ways to deliver legal services to our clients.
