International arbitration has come under some criticism recently and some legal commentators consider it the “Wild West” for arbitrations. Taught by nationally recognized international arbitration experts Robert Davidson and the Hon. Juan Ramirez (ret.), this class gives an overview of some of the trouble spots in international arbitration highlighting traps for the unwary and methods and practices to bring predictability back into international arbitrations. The class further explores key developments in international arbitration and provides practical “real-life” strategies and best practices for gaining predictability in international arbitrations and resolving disputes efficiently and effectively.
The three key learning objectives for this class are to provide:
(1) an overview of some of the trouble spots in international arbitration highlighting traps for the unwary and methods and practices to bring predictability back into international arbitrations;
(2) explore key developments in international arbitration; and
(3) give practical, “real-life”, strategies and best practices for gaining predictability in international arbitrations and resolving disputes effectively and efficiently.
