Description
Every corporation will face a crisis at some point. While attorneys are usually concerned with preserving legal arguments and limiting liability, corporate counsel must also consider the impact in the court of public opinion. Nixon-Peabody Partner and Crisis Management Specialist Scott O'Connell and public relations expert Mike Lawrence discuss the tension created between those two courts. They examine the benefits of assembling a crisis management team before a crisis occurs and the importance of brand protection in the early stages of crisis management.
Mr. O'Connell and Mr. Lawrence explore seven phases of brand protection during a high exposure crisis: setting the stage, identifying a crisis, launching a call to action, showing your cards, reaching the public, and finishing the job. Throughout this course, the presenters offer best practices to ensure that your client or company weathers the storm.
