At the 2017 Western States Bar Conference held in Maui, Nigel Roberts, VP Global Associations had the privilege of opening the conference, presenting to over seventy five leaders from seventeen State bar associations and the American Bar Association (ABA) on Advancing the Rule of Law: The Role of the Business Community in Global Society.
The presentation discussed why the rule of law vitally important to business, how key players can engage to make transformational economic and social change by advancing the rule of law, an overview of how the rule of law is measured, data detailing its importance, and the United Nations Global Compact Business for the Rule of Law initiative.
Collectively, the seventeen State bar associations represent approx. 500,000 lawyer members in the US, and the ABA boasts a lawyer membership of over 400,000.
