Want to be an Attorney Spotlight? Here’s How

Are you a fan of our Attorney Spotlight articles? We’re not surprised—it’s one of the most popular sections on Lexis® Legal Advantage. In fact, it’s not uncommon for a single Attorney Spotlight to pick up hundreds of views a week.

The Attorney Spotlights are a great way to learn about tips and trends from your colleagues and get a glimpse into the way other small and midsize firms operate. Lawyers share their experiences, offer personal insight and provide a pragmatic look at the state of the legal profession.

Do You Want to Be Featured?

Now, you’re probably thinking something along the lines of “Hey, I’ve got some smart observations to share.” Good news—we’re always looking for attorneys to feature in these segments.

Better news: It’s totally free. All we ask is a little time (30 to 60 minutes) for a phone interview.

There’s a form at the bottom of this page, scroll down and fill it out to get the ball rolling.

How the Attorney Spotlight Process Works

For starters, we can get a lot of responses, so don’t be dismayed if you’re not immediately contacted.

But, once chosen, a LexisNexis® representative will set up a phone interview, ask you a few questions and then just let you talk. You control the conversation, so you can cover only the topics you want.

We’ll take your interview and transform it into an Attorney Spotlight. That process can take a few days or a few weeks, depending our on awesome writers’ [ed.] workloads.

You’ll then get to review the draft copy to make sure it aligns with your message. Once you give it the A-OK, we’ll put it into a PDF and post it to the site.

Then, tell all of your friends to go read it. You can share the story on LinkedIn® and other social media sites, link to it from your firm’s website—even download the PDF and email it to current and prospective clients. We just hope you’re able to adjust to your newly found stardom.
