Strategies for a Future Immigration System: Webinar, June 9, 2021

June 08, 2021 (1 min read)

Documented Talks: "Immigration Matters," Strategies for a Future Immigration System

"How do we build a more humane immigration system in the U.S.?   In their new book, "Immigration Matters: Movements, Visions, and Strategies for a Progressive Future," Ruth Milkman, Deepak Bhargava, Penny Lewis convened a group of scholars and activists to try to envision this new future.

The contributors tackle different elements of the U.S. immigration system and outline elements of what a different future would look like. While there is bipartisan agreement that the current system is broken, the book lays the groundwork for a progressive path forward.

Join Documented and the NYC chapter of the Scholars Strategy Network on June 9th at 4:30 pm for a discussion on two specific elements of this book. Cardozo School of Law Professor Peter L. Markowitz will discuss the future of the Abolish ICE movement and immigration enforcement.
