"This position is located in the Office of the General Counsel, Executive Office for Immigration Review, U. S. Department of Justice. Incumbent serves as Supervisory Attorney Advisor, over either OGC's Immigration Law Unit or Programs Unit.

This position may be eligible for remote work as determined by agency policy.

Job Description: 

Duties include but are not limited to the following:

  • Oversees designated OGC unit on various areas of law and/or specialization, managing its day-to-day operations.
  • Provides technical and administrative supervision for attorneys, professional and technical staff within the designated OGC unit.
  • Plans the work to be accomplished by attorneys, professional and technical staff within the designated OGC unit.
  • Provides legal advice required for execution of designated OGC unit and support for other OGC units.
  • Directs staff in coordinating the collection and compilation of data and/or the investigation of information or complaints.
  • Serves as a principal EOIR point of contact with the U.S. Attorney Offices, other DOJ offices and government agencies that relate to matters within the designated unit.
  • Provides guidance and assistance on operational, legal, and policy issues with other federal agencies or non-governmental organizations."
