"This assignment is a 6 month non-reimbursable assignment and option to extend additional 180 days.
This position is located in the Office of the Citizenship and Immigration Services Ombudsman (CISOMB). Serves as a subject matter expert on immigration benefits laws, regulations, policies and procedures. Contributes to the formulation and drafting of recommendations regarding USCIS regulations, policies, program, and procedures as they pertain to humanitarian immigration benefits.
Responsibilities
Provides advice and counsel to the Ombudsman, Deputy Director, Chief of Policy, as well as Immigration Law Analysts concerning immigration matters and presents abstract, complex and sensitive information in a cogent and concise manner.Serves as a liaison with other Federal agencies, community-based organizations, law schools, public policy institutes, the general public, and Congress.Consults with management and staff to identify systemic issues and make recommendations to resolve actual and emerging problems.Responds to complex customer requests pertaining to immigration issues with individualized attention.Drafts and serves as an editor of recommendations, issue papers, and reports on immigration benefits issues."
