An important collaboration was announced this month that represents a step forward in legal information integration, allowing law firms to leverage external data more effectively alongside their proprietary internal data.
Infodash, a leader in legal intranet and extranet solutions for Am Law 200 law firms, will soon be integrated with the unsurpassed authoritative legal research content from LexisNexis.
The collaboration will provide law firms with access to news, docketing information and other critical legal resources from LexisNexis, combining those information assets with internal firm knowledge and other data, all without requiring any coding expertise.
The integration is available to existing law firm customers of Infodash and customers of the Legal Data API (Application Programming Interface) tool from LexisNexis. An API is simply a connection between one computer system and another computer system that allows data to flow seamlessly between the two environments.
The Infodash legal collaboration platform gives law firms everything they need to build an intranet or extranet. The platform is integrated with Microsoft SharePoint and Teams, providing a centralized hub for data and information from other systems and platforms, which now includes LexisNexis legal research content.
Ted Theodoropoulos, CEO of Infodash, explained that the collaboration between the two companies will enable legal professionals to access a wealth of external data in the same place where they access their internal resources. This combination of internal and external knowledge will foster more informed decision-making and enhance overall firm performance, he said. Mr. Theodoropoulos was awarded the International Legal Technology Association (ILTA) Innovative Leader of the Year Award for 2024 for his work developing the Infodash platform.
The LexisNexis-Infodash integration will provide law firms with five key benefits:
“We are happy to announce our strategic integration with Infodash, as it will serve to bring critical data and insights from LexisNexis directly into the workflows of our mutual clients, increasing their efficiency and productivity,” said Simon Weierman, Senior Director of Large Law Segment Management at LexisNexis, in the official press release announcing the integration. “In today’s fast-paced legal environment, having the right information at your fingertips when and where you need it is paramount.”
APIs enable law firms to integrate valuable content they rely on from external sources (e.g., court records, legal research databases, etc.) with their internal computer networks.
LexisNexis API Solutions provide law firms with the ability to access LexisNexis data from within their existing workflow, allowing lawyers and staff members to tailor their research tasks to their needs. This means less time aggregating and wrangling data — and more time analyzing and extracting actionable insights from the data that is delivered directly to their own working environment.
