The days of lawyers toiling away in law libraries overnight, furiously researching case law and drafting documents in the office, have been replaced by the freedom to work from anywhere.
The incorporation of mobile applications into legal workflows has revolutionized the way that lawyers work, offering a degree of flexibility and efficiency that previous generations of hard-charging attorneys could have never imagined. An ABA survey found that 91% of lawyers do legal research when they are out of the office and that nearly 100% of lawyers now use mobile apps for at least some legal tasks.
Mobile apps have emerged as powerful tools that streamline lawyers’ workflows, improve client communication while traveling, and help lawyers stay on top of breaking developments that might impact their matters.
Consider some of the most common use cases:
Mobile apps provide lawyers with on-the-go access to extensive legal databases, enabling them to conduct research, analyze case law and stay updated on legal news stories, regardless of whether they are working from home or from another location.
Lawyers can use mobile apps to draft, edit and review legal documents directly from their smartphones or tablets, streamlining the document review process and improving collaboration with both colleagues and clients while they are traveling.
Videoconferencing and screen-sharing capabilities built into mobile apps allow lawyers to conduct virtual meetings with clients, saving time and travel costs.
The vast majority of litigators (83%) report that they use their mobile phones from inside the courtroom. Mobile apps enable lawyers to communicate securely with clients, share confidential documents and discuss case updates in real-time, even when they are sitting in court or in a high-stakes negotiation setting.
Mobile apps provide instant notifications if there is a breaking story related to legal news, case developments and regulatory changes, ensuring that busy lawyers stay informed no matter what they are doing so they can respond promptly to evolving legal landscapes.
Now a newly released app from LexisNexis combines the freedom of mobility with the breakthrough technology of generative artificial intelligence (Gen AI) to place the power of AI directly onto lawyers’ preferred mobile devices.
Since our initial rollout last year of Lexis+ AI, the industry’s first comprehensive legal research platform powered by Legal AI (Gen AI trained specifically for the legal profession), we have been pro-actively seeking feedback from our customers and carefully studying the performance of the product in various professional settings. One of the things we heard was that it would be great if we could offer customers a way of making it easier for them to do legal work on the go with their mobile devices.
We recently launched the Lexis+ AI Mobile App, the industry’s first Legal AI mobile application, which is available now for both iOS and Android mobile devices.
The Lexis+ AI Mobile App enables legal professionals to conduct their work anytime, anywhere, so they can adapt it into their schedules whenever they see fit. The app connects users to a full suite of AI-powered features, including:
Lexis+ AI enables conversational search, insightful summarization, intelligent legal drafting, and document upload and analysis capabilities — all in a seamless user experience. All answers are grounded in the world’s largest repository of accurate and exclusive legal content from LexisNexis, including case law, statutes, treatises and more.
