Previously, he served as a political appointee in the U.S. Treasury Department in the role of Senior Advisor to the Assistant Secretary of the United States for Tax Policy – the leading Tax position in the Treasury Department reporting to the Secretary. In December 2019, Jim was awarded the Meritorious Service Award from the U.S. Treasury Department for his service and leadership during Tax Reform implementation. Through his experience, Jim brings a strong understanding of tax policy considerations and the related political processes to RSM.

He holds a LL.M. in Taxation from the New York University School of Law and a J.D. degree from the Cornell Law School, and is admitted to practice in the State of Connecticut and the State of New York.
