Shepard’s Treatment Summaries Now Available!

Shepard's treatment summaries are now integrated into Lexis+ AI responses. Previously, reviewing Shepard's reports from supporting cases required navigating away from your Lexis+ AI response. However, the new Shepardize Authority button eliminates this step by providing a summary of the Shepard's analysis within the AI conversation itself. This allows you to quickly validate citations and access the full Shepard's report with just a click.

The Shepardize Authority button is available in:

• Ask a Legal Question
• Generate a Draft
• Summarize Case

You will see the Shepardize authority button located under your AI response:

The Shepard’s summary includes:

1. A preview of Shepard’s treatment and history
2. Reason for the Shepard’s signal
3. A direct link to the full report to allow you to fully validate the citation

Note the tabs across the top of the summary and click on the three dots to see additional Shepard’s summaries:

Clicking on the View Full Shepard’s report will take you to the Shepard’s page with the AI assistant expanded to the right and prepopulated with the Shepard’s response.

Currently, the Shepardize authority is only available for cases with signals. Support for statutes will be added in the future. Additionally, the Shepardize Authority button will only appear if there are case citations. That will change once more content is available, including statutes.
