The Legal Issue Trail tool on Lexis Advance is a quick and easy way to get a comprehensive view of the universe of case law around a specific issue. Legal Issue Trail provides cases that cite to the case you are viewing as well as cases your case has cited—for a specific legal issue or point of law.

To use it, select Activate Passages and then select the passage dealing with the issue you are researching. The list of cases is displayed with the Shepard’s Signal™ indicator for each case. Open a specific case from the list to see how it treats your legal issue.
