Knowledge & Research Consultant Research Tip: Lexis+ Alerts - Delivery Recipients or Share My Alerts? What are the differences between the two options?

After running a search, when you create an Alert, the initial dialog set-up box contains all the choices to select. You’ll notice that there is the choice of adding Delivery Recipients or Share My Alerts. What are the differences between the two options?

First, both generate a notification to the recipient prompting the recipient to accept the Alert.

To avoid a notification being sent, you can set-up the Alert for yourself and save it; then Edit it:

When you select Edit, you’ll see that there are four tabs reflecting the attributes you can select: Overview, Monitor, Deliver, Share. Go to the Deliver tab and add email addresses there. And then Save:

The person will begin receiving the Alerts without having to accept a notification.

Second, when a person is added to Delivery Recipients they will receive an email with the results. They can access the individual documents by clicking on the links in the email. They cannot change the delivery of the Alert in any way.

Third, when an Alert is Shared with another person, the Alert is added to that person’s account. This allows the recipient to view the results online if they want. And they can make changes to their delivery settings.

Aware of the differences, now you can select the option that works best for your recipient!
