Knowledge & Research Consultant Research Tip: Check Out the New Visuals for Labor & Employment Arbitration Awards!

Users who subscribe to Arbitration Awards now have access to Labor & Employment Arbitration Visuals. This resource is comprised of useful graphs and charts that make it easy to spot arbitration trends and discern if specific arbitrators favor employers or the unions/employees. It also allows users to compare up to four arbitrators regarding their decision patterns all on the same screen.

Subscribers can access these materials from the Lexis+ Legal Research page’s Explore Content section. (Also available from the Practice Area section’s listing for Labor & Employment Law.)

From the Arbitration Materials page, select Labor & Employment Arbitration Awards, Combined (All awards with filters).

Then you will see a graph of the Arbitration Awards positioned at the top of the results age.

The graph will change as filters are applied. For example:

  • Choose the names of arbitrators of interest using the Arbitrator filter (select a maximum of four). (Example: William P. Daniel, Mitchell B. Goldberg, and Jack D. Tillem.)
  • Select the Prevailing Party filter (Example: Employer & Union.)

Filtering our extensive database of awards, you could potentially locate key L&E arbitration trends using this interactive graphical view of the results. This capability could streamline the process of determining which arbitrator would likely be beneficial for a case during the selection process for an arbitrator. As more filters are applied, the more specific and detailed the graph will be. (Example: Select Topic “Suspension” to the above results and you will see that William B. Daniel finds for the Employer more during these types of arbitrations.)
