- New York: New York enacts the Retail Worker Safety Act, requiring employers with 10 or more retail employees to establish a workplace violence prevention policy and training program. Employers of 500 or more retail employees nationwide will be required to provide access to panic buttons in the workplace starting in 2027. See 2024 N.Y. AB 8947.
- Illinois: Illinois amends the Illinois Wage Payment and Collection Act (Act) to add new employer pay statement and recordkeeping requirements, as well as penalties for failure to furnish pay statements or for any other violation of the Act. See 2023 Ill. SB 3208.
- Georgia: The Supreme Court of Georgia rules that a restrictive covenant does not have to contain an express geographic term to be deemed geographically reasonable under the Georgia Restrictive Covenants Act. See Am. Senior Benefits, LLC v. Wimmer, 2024 Ga. LEXIS 188 (Sep. 4, 2024).
