- New York: New York's governor signed a statewide pay disclosure bill into law, which requires employers with four or more employees to disclose certain information in job postings, including the minimum and maximum salaries or hourly wage range, a disclosure if the pay is based upon commission, and the job description. Employers must comply with the law by its September 17, 2023 effective date. See 2021 Bill Text N.Y. SB 4844.
- Vermont: Vermont's governor announces the creation of the Vermont Family and Medical Leave Insurance Plan, which will provide 60% wage replacement for six weeks to employees experiencing defined qualifying events. Coverage will first be made available to Vermont state employees on July 1, 2023 and subsequently expanded to private and non-state public employers on July 1, 2024.
