Illinois to OK Driver Licenses for Undocumented Immigrants

"Democratic Illinois Governor Pat Quinn is set to sign a bill into law that would allow undocumented immigrants to obtain a three-year state driver’s license, thus allowing the state not only to monitor bad drivers, but also allowing immigrants access to an invaluable form of identification for daily life.  The Illinois house passed the Illinois Highway Safety and Mandatory Insurance for All bill and Quinn issued a statement saying he would sign it, emphasizing public safety." - Sara Inés Calderón, Jan. 9, 2013.
