Georgia Immigration Law Puts Doctors and Nurses Out of Work

"A new immigration law in Georgia requires everyone licensed by the state to prove citizenship.  But the law is having an unintended consequence: many health care workers, included doctors and nurses, are losing their licenses because of a paperwork backlog.  Processing delays, coupled with confusion over the new rules, mean lots of expired licenses.  Hughes estimates about 1,300 doctors and other medical practitioners have lost their legal ability to work." - CPR, Nov. 13, 2012.
