ABA Webinar - Citizens of Nowhere: Representing Stateless Clients in Immigration Court
"During this webinar, panelists will educate immigration practitioners on how to recognize and represent stateless people in the US immigration system.
There are an estimated 218,000 stateless individuals living in the United States, but there is no federal definition of statelessness, nor are there any specific protections for stateless people under the law. As “citizens of nowhere,” stateless people face unique obstacles that may present novel challenges, even to experienced immigration lawyers. This training will discuss particular issues faced by stateless people and offer best practices on how to represent stateless individuals seeking immigration relief.
