ICE’s FOIA Requests Piling Up

"At Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) there has been a rapid rise in the backlog of FOIA requests received that have been waiting unanswered for long periods of time.  According to its annual FOIA report, ICE had only 50 pending requests at the end of FY 2011.  However, this number had jumped to 2,903 at the end of FY 2012 after the agency was assigned the responsibility of processing some of the backlog of FOIA requests received by the Citizenship and Immigration Service (CIS)." - TRAC, Apr. 29, 2013.
