Changing spreadsheet elements

CaseMap allows you to make adjustments to spreadsheets to accommodate your personal viewing and printing needs.

Spreadsheet elements can be customized to:

Increase row height for better online viewing
Change the font display to highlight information (Facts spreadsheet)
Change the font display in all spreadsheets for your personal view

hmtoggle_plus1To change row height
1.On the View ribbon, in the Current View group, click on the Row Height button.
2.Click a number selection to increase or decrease the row height as preferred.

The minimum is 1 and the maximum is 50.

Selections affect the active spreadsheet and any associated list dialog boxes, and are adjusted for your personal view only.

If you select the Auto-Fit check box in the Print dialog box, the row height for a printed spreadsheet is based on the largest amount of text found in a cell. However, if you clear the Auto-Fit check box, the row height for a printed spreadsheet is based on the current row height setting of your on-screen spreadsheet.

hmtoggle_plus1To change the font format in description fields

CaseMap allows you to change the font in the Facts spreadsheet for the description fields like Fact Text, Source(s), and Document Description. You can use color, bold, italics, and underlining to format text for the description statement or just portions of it. Format buttons can be added to the Home ribbon.

Font Formatting

All formatted text prints in reports, so be certain you want text to appear that way in any reports you may share with clients or other third parties. Formatted text is also retained when spreadsheet data is exported to Microsoft® Word, Corel® WordPerfect, and HTML when you use CaseMap's Send To feature.

We recommend that record formatting be kept to a minimum and follow internal guidelines for staff application. Otherwise, the records in a case may become distracting for online analysis, and random font changes that make sense to one user may be confusing to other staff.

hmtoggle_plus1To globally change the font type in spreadsheets

You can also make a global change of the font (type, style, size, and script) used in a spreadsheet by clicking Grid Font on the Current View tab on the View ribbon. This global font change affects the text display in all spreadsheets in CaseMap, but is only visible for your personal view. Whatever font is selected will print in hard copies and Adobe® Acrobat, but does not affect spreadsheet data when it is exported to Microsoft® Word, Corel® WordPerfect, and HTML when you use CaseMap's Send To feature.

hmtoggle_plus1To change the gridline and shade color for PDFs

CaseMap allows you to change the gridline and shade color when printing a spreadsheet to Adobe® Acrobat PDF files. This selection does not affect the spreadsheet view in CaseMap or when data is exported to Microsoft® Word, Corel® WordPerfect, and HTML when you use CaseMap's Send To feature. To change the gridline and shade color, click Options on the File tab, then click Print under CaseMap Options and then select a color from the Gridline and shade color box.
